The ceremony took place at the Slotnick home in Waban, Massachusetts where MDA New England Representative Burton Klein presented Mrs. Slotnick with a photo of the ambulance signed by guests.

Sometimes saving lives in Israel is a group effort. For Anatol and Pnina Hiller, Benjamin and Susan Margulies, and Bernard and Ruth Burkhoff sponsoring an MDA ambulance together was the obvious thing to do. Word of their plan quickly reached their Rabbi, Moshe and his wife, Pearl Herson, who were so inspired by their generosity and devotion to Israel that they too wanted to contribute.

On May 3, 2015 that dream came to fruition as the group celebrated the dedication of their ambulance. A ceremony was held at the home of Caren and Larry Rothenberg in Livingston, New Jersey.

On May 6 hundreds of students from Congregation Temple Israel in New York City learned about Magen David Adom’s lifesaving work during the dedication celebration of a brand new MDA ambulance. Rabbi Melissa Buyer of Temple Israel officiated during the ceremony that honored the gift made by congregants Gaby Ferman Lehrer and Mark Lehrer. AFMDA President Mark Lebow spoke to all in attendance about how the lifesaving gift, made in memory of Gaby’s mother, Eda Ferman, will save lives wherever it is stationed in Israel.

Siblings Steven Silvermintz, Betty Brutman, and Michael Silvermintz wanted to give their parents a gift that would keep on giving. Together, they decided to sponsor a lifesaving Magen David Adom ambulance in their honor, recognizing their lifetime of dedication to the State of Israel.

On May 31, Parents Hana and Jacob Silvermintz got to see their names on the MDA ambulance at a special dedication ceremony in Wesley Hills, New York. Although son Steven could not attend in person, he was able to see the smile on his parents’ faces via video streaming.
