An ambulance for Israel, in memory of Olivia

For about 10 years, Olivia Rubin volunteered for Chestnut Ridge’s William Faist Ambulance, doing her part.

“She had basic first aid,” remembers her husband, Allan. “She wasn’t an EMT, but she drove the ambulance and helped out wherever she could.”

Olivia defeated two kinds of cancers, but succumbed to mesothelioma four years ago, leaving her family searching for a way to honor her memory.

One of her sons, Craig, who lives in Jerusalem, reminded his father that Olivia, who visited Israel often, had spoken wistfully of donating an ambulance to Israel.
