Donor Spotlight: Mini Ambulances and Mini Lifesavers Make BIG Difference

Posted By : Leah Breevoort March 20, 2015

Purim is all about commemorating the saving of the Jewish people from a conspiracy to destroy them. During this holiday, it’s customary to celebrate by dressing up in costumes, exchanging gifts, and donating to charity. Elana Goldsmith and her family decided to combine all three in support of AFMDA! In today’s Donor Spotlight she shares with us how a few small, cardboard ambulances can help save lives in Israel!

“I wanted to share with you what happened with those amazing tzedakah boxes MDA gave us. Originally, they were supposed to be used for my son Joey’s 4th birthday, but after much discussion by my son, he requested that we use them as our Purim theme. Therefore, this year we dressed up as a doctor, patient, and a Magen David Adom paramedic, using the ambulances as our mishloach manot box. My son and I worked on the Purim poem together and filled it with delicious red and white snacks. This morning we delivered them in the midst of a snowstorm (we live in Bergenfield) and people were amazed and impressed with the boxes. We love MDA and support it and want others to support it as well. Happy Purim and thank you again for all your help!”
