Emergency plane landing after tire shreds are found

At 9:10 a.m. local time, Ben Gurion Airport informed MDA about an emergency landing of a plane carrying 181 passengers and crew members after tire shreds were found on the runway after takeoff. MDA immediately activated its emergency protocol sending 36 ambulances, 10 MICUs, two mobile command & control vehicles, and first responders on medicycles.


The El-AL passenger jet, which was en-route to Prague, successfully landed with the faulty wheel. MDA was ready and available to tend to any passengers, but no injuries were reported.
