Two high-level Israel Defense Forces officials — Technological and Logistics Directorate, Major General Yitzhak Turgeman, along with Chief Medical Officer, Brigadier General Dr. Tarif Bader —came away highly impressed with Magen David Adom after a recent visit to its National Command-and-Control Center in Kiryat Ono.

The visit included a comprehensive presentation by MDA Director-General Eli Bin about MDA’s organizational activities, including its blood services and MDA’s close cooperation with the IDF Medical Corps’ Blood Services Unit.

The presentation also covered MDA’s Life Guardians initiative, a program that has recruited more than 21,000 medically-trained civilians and soldiers who can be summoned via the My MDA app to respond to basic emergencies.

“MDA is a wonderful organization with significant independence, which is a national symbol,” said Maj. Gen. Turgeman. “There is excellent cooperation between IDF and MDA and it should be maintained as part of the joint effort to save lives.”
