Learning about MDA at Limmud Boston

On December 7, 2014, Limmud Boston, the annual conference in celebration of Jewish culture and creativity, returned to Congregation Mishkan Tefila in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and American Friends of Magen David Adom was there to join in on the festivities. With over 800 people in attendance, AFMDA’s presence couldn’t be missed. A newly sponsored ambulance was parked out front and open for everyone to view. Children climbed inside to explore life as an MDA paramedic while others listened to the lifesaving stories shared by four amazing MDA overseas volunteers.

Also in attendance was AFMDA’s Northeast Regional Director Gary Pearl and AFMDA’s New England Representative Burt Klein. “MDA conducts pekuah nefesh, saving lives in Israel, each day, 24/7,” says Gary Pearl. “I was happy to share that message with so many people.”

The MDA ambulance that was displayed during the event was sponsored in memory of Rita and Morris Stern. You can read more about their story in the November 10, 2014 post below. The ambulance will now make its way to Israel and join MDA’s lifesaving fleet of over 1,000 vehicles.
