MDA medics transport injured Israelis to Shaare Zedek Medical Center following Monday’s terrorist attack.

Magen David Adom ambulances, Medicycles, paramedics, and EMTs were first on the scene of Monday’s bus bombing in Jerusalem. MDA emergency responders treated scores of injured Israelis and evacuated 16 of them — one in critical condition — to nearby hospitals. Officials said the terrorist attack was caused by an explosive device placed on the bus.

The bombing happened during afternoon rush hour in south Jerusalem neighborhood of Talpiot. One of the first to arrive was MDA senior paramedic, Elad Pass.

“When we got there we saw fire in the bus and thick smoke over the whole area. Injured people were lying in the road, they were all conscious, suffering from burns and bleeding,” he said. “We gave them medical attention at the scene and sent them in ambulances to the hospitals.”

Yonatan Yagodovsky, MDA’s director of international relations, was also on the scene providing updates and offering assistance. Yagodovsky is intimately familiar with such terror scenarios; he previously was director of the Jerusalem region during the Second Intifada. See his report from the scene:
