MDA is Prepared and On Hand for the New Year

Posted By : Leah Breevoort September 11, 2015

Most Israelis will be spending Rosh Hashanah celebrating with family and friends. But dedicated Magen David Adom medics will have a very different experience.

Thanks to your support, thousands of well-trained medics, paramedics, and first responders with cutting-edge medical equipment, Medicycles, ambulances, and helicopters will be on call, ready to respond to any emergency that might arise.

Volunteers and staff will still have the chance to celebrate during the festival. And they’ll even get to hear the shofar be blown at their stations.

MDA Director General Eli Bin, cautioned Israelis to stay safe during the festivities, and it’s good advice for Americans too.

“I call on the public to pay attention to safety instructions and to pay more attention in order to prevent accidents at home, which occur during the children’s holidays and when the parents are resting. I call on those driving to not to drive after heavy meals and under the influence of alcohol,” he said. “In the name of Magen David Adom, I wish the whole house of Israel a happy new year, full of excellent health and personal fulfillment”.

While we hope all will stay safe during the holiday, thanks to your generous contributions, MDA paramedics have the training and equipment they need to respond to any emergency. And with your continued support, they’ll be ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead for Israel in the new year. If you wish to make a Rosh Hashanah gift, please click here.

Thank you again for your support. Shanah tovah.
