Along with Israel’s schoolchildren, National and Civil Service volunteers began a new year on September 1st. Some 500 of the 18,000 teenagers volunteer with Magen David Adom, providing one to two years of service.

Reuven Pinski and his colleagues received a comprehensive tour of
MDA’s National Operations Center.

To commemorate the start of the year, Reuven Pinski, director-general of the National Civil Service Authority, and senior members of the organization visited the MDA National Operations Center in Kiryat Ono, accompanied by MDA Director-General Eli Bin.

“The sons and daughters of the National and Civil Service provide a quality and significant workforce at Magen David Adom,” said Bin. “Thanks to the members of the service, who are with us at the front, we are ready for any challenge and task. I thank Reuven and his people for their assistance over the years and during the Corona period in particular.”

Reuven Pinski and his colleagues received a comprehensive tour of the center and an overview of the activities and professional training members receive in the paramedic and EMT courses. They also met some of the volunteers who serve MDA every day. Whether they work in an ambulance, in the emergency call center or at a Covid testing station, they take part in saving lives every day.

“We are on the threshold of a new year, which is also expected to be challenging against the backdrop of the renewed Corona outbreak, and the role of national service volunteers is becoming more significant than ever,” said Pinski.

“Thanks to our long-standing collaboration with Magen David Adom and in consideration of our national priorities, our volunteers go out today to serve for a year or two. We wish great success to all the volunteers who are sure to contribute a lot this year.”
