With the arrival of warm weather, Magen David Adom volunteer teams held drills in which all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and ambulances were deployed along Israel’s shores to provide quick and efficient response to drowning incidents at sea.

MDA teams received advanced refresher training on saving lives in beach conditions. They also broadened their knowledge of their vehicles while practicing driving in off-road conditions and on the sand while operating their vehicles’ 4×4 capabilities. And, the MDA teams equipped their vehicles with the supplies necessary for saving lives beachside.

“We are increasing our alert regarding drowning incidents on Israel’s shores,” said Eli Bin, director-general of MDA. “Accordingly, we deployed special ambulances and rescue vehicles appropriate for beach conditions and refreshed our teams’ training to provide the most effective medical assistance in the fastest possible time.”
