Since October 7, 3.6 tons of breastmilk have been donated to the Sussman Family Foundation Human Milk Bank. This incredible amount of human milk, a testament to the lovingkindness which pervades Israeli society, has been fed to premature babies and other infants in need of breastmilk since October 7.
The breastmilk has fed babies whose mothers who were kidnapped, murdered, or injured, and infants whose mothers enlisted in the IDF in senior positions such as doctors, pilots, and combat soldiers who have been unable to come home every day and breastfeed their babies.
MDA thanks the mothers across Israel who have donated to others in need and to the milk bank team for making sure the breastmilk is safe for the babies to drink. Housed in Magen David Adom’s Marcus National Blood Center, MDA’s milk bank is Israel’s first and only human milk bank.
