Magen David Adom declared a mass casualty event at the scene of a Hezbollah drone strike near Binyamina.

Dozens of MDA EMTs and paramedics responded to calls to MDA’s emergency call center in ambulances, MICUs, and on Medicycles. MDA medics and an IDF medical team provided medical care to 61 injured people and evacuated 37 patients to eight different hospitals throughout central Israel including 3 in serious condition and 18 in moderate condition.

“This was a very difficult scene,” remarked MDA paramedic Rafi Sheva. “We declared it a mass casualty event and treated patients suffering from blast injuries and shrapnel. The injuries were severe, and we evacuated the injured to hospitals as quickly as possible for further medical treatment.”

During the incident, MDA’s blood services supplied hospitals with 197 blood units and components. The IDF later announced that the site of the attack was a military base and that four soldiers had been killed.

“We arrived at the scene with a very large number of mobile intensive care units and ambulances, and the injured were evacuated by helicopters. We scanned the area to ensure there were no additional victims,” said deputy manager of the MDA Sharon region, Amit Dillion. “I managed the scene by organizing the area and forces, and we evacuated the injured as quickly as possible to the hospital.”
