A Magen David Adom ambulance that was intentionally targeted and disabled by Hamas on October 7 is currently on display at Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem until the end of the week.

All are welcome to visit and learn more about MDA activities and stories in a small exhibit that includes a related video voiced by Israel advocate Lizzy Savetsky, alongside the targeted rescue vehicle. The ambulance stands as a testament to the bravery and dedication of MDA medics during that tragedy.

A month after the attack, Shin Bet personnel revealed to MDA Hamas combat manuals proving that the terrorist group had detailed plans to target rescue vehicles and sabotage MDA operations on the day of the attacks.

Tragically, this was already evident as MDA teams were forced to save lives under fire, with some killed while doing so. MDA medics who were killed while saving lives on October 7 included Amit Man, Aharon Chaimov, Aviya Hetzroni, Lior Rudaif, Ronen Angel, Michel Nissenbaum, and Dolev Yehoud.

As just one example of the targeting of rescue vehicles, dozens of terrorists infiltrated Kibbutz Kissufim, near the Gaza border, murdering 18 people and taking one hostage. They fired at the sides, wheels, and windshields of an ambulance, aiming to disable it and prevent MDA EMTs and paramedics from providing medical assistance to the injured and transporting them to hospitals. The bullet-ridden Kibbutz Kissufim ambulance, now on display at Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem, helps honor those who saved lives under unimaginable conditions, while memorializing others who were killed in the line of duty.
