MDA EMT saves infant.

When two-month-old Lev of Kiryat Bialik lost consciousness, his worried parents immediately called Magen David Adom.
EMT Rachel Bitton quickly arrived at their home via Medicycle and saw that Lev, whose name means heart, had suffered cardiac arrest.
She performed advanced resuscitation and administered two electric shocks from a defibrillator until the infant’s small heart began to beat again. The MDA MICU team, who arrived while Bitton was resuscitating baby Lev, transported him to the hospital fully conscious.
The next day, Bitton continued to think about her tiny patient and the ever-dedicated EMT went to visit Lev at the hospital where he is continuing his recovery.
“I couldn’t stop thinking about sweet Lev,” Bitton reflected. “We experienced such dramatic moments together, where every second counted and determined what would happen to him. I am so happy to see that he is recovering and getting stronger.”
“We have no way to thank Rachel and the MDA team for the professional and warm care they gave to our baby,” said Lev’s parents. “Thanks to you, Lev is alive.”
