Magen David Adom dispatched ambulances, Mobile Intensive Care Units, and Medicycles to the scene of a shooting terror attack that targeted a bus and two cars on Route 55 near Karnei Shomron and Kedumim Monday morning.
MDA EMTs and paramedics provided medical treatment to eight people who were injured and pronounced three dead at the scene.
Two females in their 70s and one male in his 30s were declared dead after having been found unconscious without signs of life. The victims of the attack were later identified as Rachel Cohen, Aliza Raiz, and Master Sergent Elad Yaakov Weinstein, a police officer. The eight injured people were evacuated by MDA to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba and Rabin Medical Center – Beilinson. They included the 63-year-old bus driver who was conscious and in serious condition with gunshot wounds to his limbs and abdomen, as well as two females in their 60s who were in moderate condition, and six others in mild condition.
“This was a very serious attack involving multiple vehicles spread across the road,” said MDA paramedic Avichai Ben Tzurya. “We arrived quickly, searched the scene, and identified two females and one male who had suffered severe gunshot wounds and didn’t have a pulse. We declared them dead. Inside the bus, we treated several people who suffered from gunshot wounds and who had been injured by shattered glass. Our team worked quickly to evacuate them to the hospital for further treatment.”
