A 10-month-old baby girl from Yavne accidentally swallowed a bead earlier this week. When baby Geffen’s mother, Moran, realized that Geffen was choking, she quickly called Magen David Adom’s 101 emergency hotline for assistance.

The MDA dispatcher instructed Moran how to perform the Heimlich maneuver on baby Geffen over the phone until MDA paramedics arrived a few minutes later on Medicycle. They stabilized Geffen before she could be brought to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Paramedics Guy Bublil and Benny Yosef had the opportunity to visit Moran and Geffen back at their home where Moran thanked the MDA team: “You saved my child,” she said. “This is my own Chanukah miracle, thank you.”
