A Manhattan coffee shop is already more than halfway towards its goal in sponsoring an MDA Medicycle, a fundraiser that has brought droves of new patrons eager to support the café and MDA.
Owner Aaron Dahan is overwhelmed by the outpouring of support his café has seen, including endorsements from local rabbis and influencers. He almost needed to shut Caffe Aronne down after staff members quit in response to the café’s support of Israel. Friends and family have stepped in to serve the long line of Caffe Aronne’s thirsty customers.
In addition to raising money for the Medicycle through an online campaign, the cafe is donating $1 for every cup of coffee and 25% of all wine sales to MDA.
Caffe Aronne published a statement on Instagram explaining its support of MDA: “Every year Magen David Adom saves the lives of tens of thousands of Israeli Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Whether they be religious or secular, straight or gay, man or woman, each life is worth saving.”
