Westchester Torah Academy’s Middle School students recently had the powerful opportunity to hear firsthand from Guy Caspi, a medic with Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical service. His visit offered students a meaningful window into the lifesaving work MDA carries out every day across Israel—and the values that drive it.
Caspi shared his personal journey of joining MDA at just 14 years old, inspiring students with his early commitment to service and responsibility. He explained the wide range of emergencies MDA responds to daily, from medical crises to national disasters, emphasizing the constant readiness required to protect lives. In an age-appropriate and thoughtful way, Caspi also spoke about MDA’s tireless work during and after the events of October 7, describing how medics and volunteers worked around the clock to save lives in extraordinarily challenging circumstances.
