A festive ceremony marked a milestone for 22 ultra-Orthodox women from Jerusalem and the surrounding area, who have officially completed their emergency medicine training with Magen David Adom and are now joining the organization as active volunteers.

The graduates will serve aboard MDA ambulances and intensive care vehicles throughout the capital city. Each woman was equipped with bags containing lifesaving medical equipment and response vests enabling them to provide care at any hour, even their scheduled volunteer shifts.

The ceremony was attended by MDA Jerusalem District Director Avi Hovav, the regional volunteers supervisor, Senior MDA Medic Instructor Rivka Or, and the proud families of the newly certified medics.

MDA Director General Eli Bin offered his congratulations: “I commend these women for completing their training and joining the ranks of MDA’s medics. Their contribution will meaningfully strengthen the quality and speed of emergency medical response across Jerusalem and its surrounding communities. MDA is deeply committed to integrating volunteers from all parts of Israeli society, and we work to train each of them in a way that respects their way of life while giving them the tools to save lives anytime, anywhere.”
