While everyone at the Tel Aviv Gay Pride Parade that took place today was focused on celebrating, Magen David Adom (MDA) remained behind the scenes in case things didn’t go as planned.
In coordination with the Israeli Police, Tel Aviv Municipality, and the parade organizers, MDA was equipped for action throughout the route. Ambulances, intensive care units, and mobile clinics to treat heat stroke, minor injuries, and more were at the ready. To minimize potential health events, MDA encouraged all participants beforehand to come hydrated, bring bottled water, wear sunblock, and limit alcohol consumption.
“Magen David Adom teams in Tel Aviv were prepared and fully coordinated with all the security forces and relevant parties,” said MDA Director General Eli Bin. “In order to provide an extensive, comprehensive and rapid medical response, parade participants were urged not to hesitate to contact MDA paramedics who were spread out in the field and were encouraged to download the ‘My MDA’ app.”
