Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency personnel may not be able to help Israel win the International Windsurfing Competition, but they will be prepared to save the day if the need arises.

This week, dozens of surfers from all over the world will compete on Lake Kinneret. The competition is part of the Professional Windsurfers Association’s (PWA) World Cup Tour taking place June 21-25 in Tiberias.
MDA EMTs and paramedics are prepared by land and sea to provide an efficient and fast medical response to participants and spectators alike, if necessary. The surfers will be accompanied by MDA’s fully equipped medical boat that is able to provide real-time lifesaving solutions in the lake before reaching the shore.
“As with any major event, here too we are prepared to give the best medical response,” says MDA Jordan Valley Area Director Oren Avitan. “MDA’s unique emergency boat, what we call our Seabulance, will take part in medical security alongside MDA’s emergency ATVs [all-terrain vehicles] and ambulances, allowing us full mobile, immediate, and intensive medical care if needed.”
