With the rampant rise of the Omicron variant, Israel recently became the most Covid-infected nation per capita in the world. The nation’s health services have been overwhelmed, and the public is confused by Israel’s rapidly changing protocols.

Microsoft approached MDA and proposed adding an artificial intelligence-based bot to their website that provides instructions for people who are concerned that they may have contracted the virus. In just seven hours, the bot was created and added to MDA’s website.

MDA’s bot helps people understand if they should be in isolation, for how long, what kind of testing they should be doing, and directs them to testing locations.

The software is based on the Azure Health Bot platform developed by the Microsoft Israel Research and Development Health Group. The virtual health assistant allows health organizations to give users answers to complex medical questions.
