Community leaders gather for training on mass-casualty attacks.

The J hosted Magen David Adom for a hands-on session teaching community leaders how to act in those crucial first minutes of crisis.

Over 50 community leaders gathered at The J-Detroit on Aug. 20 for two special training sessions led by Aryeh Myers, a senior paramedic from Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service. The program attracted a wide range of engaged participants, including dozens of Jewish agency staff, synagogue leaders, Jewish community security officials, as well as numerous local church leaders.

Hosted by Jewish Community Security (JCSI), the “The First 7 Minutes” sessions focused on how to respond to potential mass-casualty attacks that may be aimed at organizations and community centers, with an emphasis on the critical first seven minutes of response time.
