Hodaya and Roni are volunteer medics with Magen David Adom who were planning to have a big wedding before Israel was attacked on October 7.
Due to the war, the young couple decided to have a smaller wedding and dedicated it to their fellow medics who were killed.
The wedding was bittersweet, both joyous and emotional. Hodaya and Roni read a chapter of psalms, prayed, and mentioned each of their colleagues who were killed by name. Some of their friends came to the wedding straight from army reserves duty in uniform. Some of their invited guests weren’t able to come because they were killed.
The couple appeared together in their MDA uniforms in an interview with Israel’s Channel 12. They are still hoping to have the big party they dreamed of once the war is over.
