With four-wheel drive and enhanced suspension systems, this lifesaving vehicle is specifically designed and built to maneuver in the most rugged conditions โ dunes, deserts, sea shore, mountain areas โ and to rescue anyone in need of urgent medical care.
The compact all-terrain vehicles allow its teams to reach areas inaccessible even to a 4×4 ambulance. They are also able to operate in extreme weather conditions, such as snowstorms, and serve as medical supervision vehicles in off-road terrain such as Israelโs beaches during the summer months. They are often referred to as โmules,โ and are able to climb the cobble-stoned alleys and stairs of Jerusalemโs Old City.
In border areas or parts of Israel considered high-risk or conflict zones, Magen David Adom deploys armored ambulances that provide bullet-proof protection to patients and paramedics.
Critically or terminally ill patients and their families often have a dream of visiting a beloved place, seeing a person who cannot travel to them, or experiencing something as simple as a visit to the ocean for the first…and perhaps last time. Paramedics team up with an onboard doctor and the medical equipment necessary to grant a patientโs wish.
Dispatched six days a week to collect blood across Israel, the bloodmobiles are used for blood drives in a variety of locations throughout Israel. Last year, bloodmobiles collected nearly 270,000 units of blood in Israel.
Equipped with the most sophisticated communication and tracking systems available, the 32-ton Mobile Command and Control Center vehicle holds as many as five dispatchers and up to 18 officials. This unique vehicle makes it possible for Magen David Adom to operate from the field for disasters ranging from earthquakes to train derailments to the aftermath of war.
