Magen Project

Local MDA-trained Community Emergency Response Teams located where the need is most critical.

Magen David Adom is training community-based emergency response teams to provide medical treatment to wounded residents of local communities when terrorists prevent immediate transport to area hospitals.

MDA is connecting these communities to MDAโ€™s National Operations Center through which they are integrated into a vast network of EMTs and paramedics. The Magen Project was formed in response to the unprecedented challenges faced during the October 7 attacks when Hamas isolated communities on the Gaza border with heavily armed bands of terrorists who targeted ambulances and blocked roads in and out of these towns.ย

Community Emergency Response Teams

MDA is training Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), integrating them with local security professionals, and providing medical equipment and emergency response vehicles.

Multi-Casualty Rescue Units

Multi-Casualty Rescue Units are 10-foot trailers equipped with a large stock of medical supplies to provide treatment for up to 10 seriously wounded and 20 moderately wounded patients. They are designed to get supplies to the scene of an attack quickly.

โ€œWeโ€™re working with each locality in a very personalized way to provide the kind of training and equipment that will be of most use to them.โ€ – Uri Shacham, MDA chief of staff
